A South London actress and writer whose first three credits drew Cannes recognition, a BBC series lead and selection across two of the industry's most authoritative emerging-talent lists. Tharia made her television debut in 2023 as Polly Shah in BBC Three's Phoenix Rise, returning for a second season of twenty-two episodes. The following year she played July, the lead role in Ariane Labed's feature directorial debut September Says, which premiered in Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2024.
In 2024 Screen International named her a Star of Tomorrow; Variety placed her on its 10 Brits to Watch in 2025; Vogue listed her among the rising stars of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Forthcoming credits include the title role in The Education of Jane Cumming and Josie in Klara and the Sun. She also writes — a member of Burnt Orange's ZEST Writers' Collective and a Royal Court Methods of Writing alum.
