One of the most consistently acclaimed stage actors of his generation, Luke Thallon has spent the seven years since graduating from Guildhall building a body of work that runs from Tom Stoppard at Wyndham's to Hamlet at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. His breakout came as Fritz/Leo in Stoppard's Leopoldstadt (2020), for which he won the Clarence Derwent Award.
In 2023–24 he played Roman Abramovich in Peter Morgan's Patriots — premiering at the Almeida, transferring to the Noël Coward in the West End, and finally the Ethel Barrymore on Broadway. He took the title role in the RSC's 2025 Hamlet, and in 2026 joins HBO's television adaptation of Harry Potter as Professor Quirinus Quirrell. The Stage named him among its 25 theatremakers of the future in 2022.
